How to protect your account from hacking: 

 

Check site url

Always check if the address of the site you are visiting is the same as Markabu.ru If the Markabu page seems suspicious to you, do not enter your personal data on it. Close the page if the browser displays a message about the transition to a suspicious site.

Install antivirus

Make sure your device is free of viruses. With the help of viruses, cybercriminals can steal your files, lock your computer, and find out passwords for the sites on which you are registered. Free programs Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool or Dr.Web CureIt! Will help you quickly scan your computer and remove viruses. They need to be downloaded again before checking. Personal safety rules

Do not give your passwords, PIN and CVV codes and SMS codes to anyone - even to employees of a trusted organization.
Don't click on suspicious links. Scammers can send you a link to a fake site and steal logins and passwords from your accounts.
Use only the official apps of your organization in the App Store and Google Play.

Set a strong password on your phone.

If you lost your phone, ask to temporarily block your personal account. Then block your SIM card with your mobile operator.

If you have changed your mobile phone number, turn off notifications in your personal account. If the SIM card has stopped working, call your service provider and find out the reason. Perhaps you are being attacked by scammers.

Do not connect notifications to other people's phones, even if you are asked to do so by people who introduced themselves as Markabu employees.

Creating a strong password

Password must:

• Differ from the current and old password.
• Consist of 8 or more symbols.
• Contain upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters.
• Consist of letters of the Latin alphabet.

Password should not:

Based on your username (account name).

• Be a real word.
• Create a strong password
• The longer the password, the better. This makes it harder for attackers to hack you.
• Try to use a random set of letters, numbers, and symbols when creating your password.

 

Useful Tips

Remove all vowels from the phrase to create a unique password.

Example: JdNpltTdvJd ("jadniy platit dvajdi")

Capitalize some letters, add numbers and symbols, including punctuation marks.

Example:! MhtMlnkPtchk_20

Change your password every few months. This will avoid possible leakage.

Do not use the same password for multiple accounts. If hackers compromise one site, they will try to use the obtained passwords to access other sites and applications.

 

Internet fraud

Many sites need your personal information to run. For example, you indicate them when ordering on the Internet. Attackers can use various means to get hold of them.

Phishing

Phishing is a way of stealing identity through emails and messages. For example, these are letters from cybercriminals posing as banks. The purpose of these emails is to trick you into entering your password or card details into a fake form.

Be vigilant and contact us for any minor suspicion.

Fraudsters can send:

 

• fake emails with a Markabu.ru identity and a sender's address that looks like ours!
• messages that are similar to messages from a bank about a purchase on Markabu.ru!

Bogus sites

Bogus or fake sites are sites that outwardly copy a popular site.

The purpose of these sites is to force you to enter personal information. Do not follow links that were sent to you by an unfamiliar addressee. To recognize a fictitious site, look at its address in the browser bar - it will be different from the official one.
